This policy explains what Poolometer collects, how it is used, how your saved data is handled, and how account deletion and retention work.
Data We Collect
Poolometer collects information you provide directly, including your email address, account profile details, pool setup details, chemistry logs, maintenance notes, pool pass details, imports, backup files, exports you request, and support or feedback submissions. Poolometer also collects operational data needed to run the service, such as app version, device or browser metadata, request metadata, security logs, and service-side diagnostics associated with your account activity.
How We Collect It
We collect data when you create an account, sign in, edit your profile, create or update pools, log chemistry, manage pool passes, import or export records, request support, submit feedback, or otherwise use saved account features. Some technical and diagnostic data is collected automatically when the app or website communicates with our servers.
Saved Account Data
Poolometer is an account-based online service. Pool chemistry history, settings, pool passes, and similar records stay tied to the signed-in account instead of living only on one device. If you intentionally download an export or backup file, that separate copy may also exist wherever you choose to store it.
How We Use Data
Poolometer uses data to authenticate accounts, operate the service, save and retrieve your records, generate requested imports and exports, provide pool guidance, secure the service, investigate abuse or misuse, respond to support requests, comply with legal obligations, and improve reliability and performance. We may also use limited first-party analytics and operational telemetry that we control ourselves to understand failures, latency, and feature usage.
Service Providers And Sharing
We may share data with service providers that help us host, store, transmit, secure, monitor, and support the service. Those providers may process data on our behalf only as needed to operate, protect, or support Poolometer. We may also disclose data if required by law, to enforce our terms, to protect users or the service, or in connection with a business transfer.
Deletion, Retention, And Limited Residual Records
You can request account deletion from within the app. Deletion requests permanently delete your account and associated data without a user-facing grace period, although some data may persist temporarily in backups, logs, or recovery media. We may retain minimal records after deletion when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, legal compliance, audit requirements, enforcing the deletion itself, or protecting the service. Those retained records may include timestamps, service logs, internal tombstones, or limited non-reversible identifier fingerprints used for abuse-prevention or deletion-audit purposes.
Your Choices And Requests
You can access, update, export, import, and delete saved account data using app features where available. You can also contact support about privacy, deletion, correction, or account questions. If we rely on consent for a specific data use, you can withdraw that consent by stopping that use, changing the relevant setting when available, or contacting support.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and operational measures to protect data, but no storage, network, or transmission system is guaranteed to be perfectly secure. You are responsible for account credential security and for any exported files or copies you choose to store or share outside Poolometer.
Children
Poolometer is not intended for children to independently create accounts or submit personal information. If you believe personal information was provided to Poolometer inappropriately, contact support and request review or deletion.
